REFRESH

Photo-books & Objects

2026-Ongoing

Using photographs, packaging, and everyday objects, the project examines how consumer culture constructs ideas of femininity through colour, language, and branding. Products such as soaps, razors, creams, and perfumes become symbols of gendered expectations tied to care, cleanliness, and appearance. By recontextualising these objects, the series questions how marketing shapes perceptions of the body and identity.

Refresh reflects on the subtle ways ordinary hygiene products carry social narratives around beauty, femininity, and self-maintenance.

Refresh is a series of zines that explores beauty and hygiene products heavily marketed toward women, despite their core functions being gender neutral.
